Washington State University Athletics
Washington State University is an NCAA Division I school, with baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, track & field, and volleyball for men and basketball, cross-country, golf, rowing (crew), soccer, swimming, tennis, track & field, and volleyball for women. The team nickname is the Cougars. Washington State University is a member of the Pacific-10 Conference.
Sports facilities include a stadium, a coliseum, a baseball field, a softball field, a swimming pool, a gymnasium, a soccer field, and a tennis center. The crew team rows in the Snake River.
Spirit groups are made up of a co-ed cheerleading squad, a dance team, and a mascot (“Butch the Cougar,” who can also be hired for other events, including weddings). The dance team also competes nationally.
The Washington State Cougars participate in the PAC-10 conference of the NCAA. Men’s sports include baseball, basketball, football, golf, and track & field. Women’s sports include basketball, cross country, swimming, tennis, and volleyball.
The Athletics Department is also home to a range of student services, including athletic medicine, student-athlete development, and strength & conditioning.
