Washington State U. woman recants first and third attacks April 8th
The woman who reported the first and third attacks on campus has confessed to falsely reporting both assaults, Washington State University Police announced Thursday. Police are still investigating the second of the three reports, WSU Police Lt. Steve Hansen said.

As of Tuesday evening, three new confirmed cases of H1N1 flu were confirmed at Washington State University. In addition, Health and Wellness Services is awaiting test results to see if 10 other WSU students have been infected.

Washington State University Athletics
Washington State University is an NCAA Division I school, with baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, track & field, and volleyball for men and basketball, cross-country, golf, rowing (crew), soccer, swimming, tennis, track & field, and volleyball for women. The team nickname is the Cougars. Washington State University is a member of the Pacific-10 Conference.
Sports facilities include a stadium, a coliseum, a baseball field, a softball field, a swimming pool, a gymnasium, a soccer field, and a tennis center. The crew team rows in the Snake River.
Spirit groups are made up of a co-ed cheerleading squad, a dance team, and a mascot (“Butch the Cougar,” who can also be hired for other events, including weddings). The dance team also competes nationally.
The Washington State Cougars participate in the PAC-10 conference of the NCAA. Men’s sports include baseball, basketball, football, golf, and track & field. Women’s sports include basketball, cross country, swimming, tennis, and volleyball.
The Athletics Department is also home to a range of student services, including athletic medicine, student-athlete development, and strength & conditioning.
