Washington State University Admissions
Applications to the undergraduate programs are accepted through January 31 for the fall semester, with an application fee of $38. In addition to the application form and fee, students must provide high school transcripts, test scores, and a personal essay. Applications can be submitted on-line.
Students must have completed four years on English, three years of mathematics with an additional year recommended, two years of science, two years of a foreign language (American Sign Language qualifies), three years of social science, and one year of arts.
Graduate students must provide the following for admissions to the graduate school: application and fee, transcripts, and test scores or other materials as required by the program to which one is applying. A graduate application has an application fee of $35.
Washington State has competitive admissions policies. Students who are successfully enrolled demonstrate a 3.4 GPA or better, an above average score on the SAT or ACT, and a well written personal statement. An advanced coursework taken in high school will give applicants a much-needed edge. All of these factors are not weighed equally or consistently, but rather in light of a particular student’s abilities and how they might fit into the University community.
